The holiday season will be here before we know it. And along with putting up the Christmas tree and spending snowy nights by the fire, many of our Paper Pumpkin subscribers will be looking forward to opening their holiday kit. Christmastime papercrafting with Paper Pumpkin has become an annual tradition!
So to deliver more of what our subscribers love this holiday season, in October and November we are offering back-to-back coordinating kits, one with Christmas cards, the other with Christmas tags. Both kits make it easy for your customers to add a handmade, personal touch to their holiday giving—without a lot of fuss. It’s Christmas made easy with Paper Pumpkin!
If you haven’t tried a Paper Pumpkin subscription yet, you can order only one month or a whole year – the choice is yours!!
Aren’t these the cutest little treat boxes? Shout out for inspiration over at Chic ‘n Scratch, Angie Kennedy Juda. These little treat boxes are large enough to put your favorite candies or non candy treats like mini lotions or nail polish or stamp accessories!!
Recipe: (Directions given for the “Bring on the Merry” Treat Box as the instructions for the Halloween treat box are available over at Chic ‘n Scratch) NOTE: All measurements are given in inches.
Cardstock:
Calypso Coral: 6×5 (score 1-1/2 on all 4 sides)
Calypso Coral: 8 x 3-1/8 (score 2-1/16, 3-9/16, 5-5/8, 7-1/8)
Calypso Coral Tag: 3 x 1-1/2
Whisper White Tags 4-5/8 x 3 and 2-3/4 x 2-3/4
Designer Series Paper: Bird Ballad
The 6×5 scored piece of calypso coral card stock will make up the open box that slides into the sleeve. This diagram shows to cut on the red lines and to cut off the tabs with the X. Apply adhesive to the blue tab area.
Score and fold the 8-3/8 piece of calypso coral card stock and apply adhesive to the end. This piece will become the sleeve where you will slide the open box you made above. I added a small piece of ribbon to the bottom of the box to enable easier sliding when pulling the box out of the sleeve. (optional).
I cut decorative frames out of the Ornate Frames dies for layering my tag with both whisper white and the calypso coral. I stamped the Tags Tags Tags stamp set and cut with the Trio of Tags dies.
The possibilities are endless with the numerous beautiful designer series papers in the current Annual Catalog and the Holiday Catalog. I’d love to see your treat boxes.
Today I participated in another color challenge card event and I love the way this card came out. I used the ink direct to block technique. The colors blended nicely. I chose Highland Heather, Pretty Peacock, and Mint Macaron. These 5 colors were included in the challenge.
Recipe:
Cardstock:
Pretty Peacock 5.5″ x 4.25″ and a scrap
Highland Heather 5.25″ x 4″ and a scrap
Very Vanilla 5″ x 3.75″ and a scrap
Designer Series Paper: Woven Threads DSP (3.75″ x 1.5″)
Technique: Apply highland heather ink to the middle of the acrylic block, then apply mint macaron to the top and pretty peacock to the bottom. Mist lightly with water to let the colors blend and then pick up the block and tilt slightly to allow the colors to run. Apply the block to the very vanilla card stock and allow the ink to soak into the card stock before removing the block. When dry, stamp the desired image over the colored block image.
Adhere highland heather card stock to pretty peacock base.
Apply woven threads DSP to the bottom of the very vanilla layer.
Attach pretty peacock linen thread to cover seam between very vanilla and the DSP.
Punch pretty peacock, very vanilla, and highland heather circles.
Stamp greeting on highland heather
Adhere circles in desired layers
Attach very vanilla stamped layer to the highland heather layer.
Attach stacked circles/greeting
Spray lightly with champagne mist shimmer paint diluted in 70% rubbing alcohol. Allow to dry
