Falling Leaves
I participated in a card challenge today which required the use of leaves. I wasn’t even sure I had any stamp sets with leaves but found leaves in the Stampin’ Up Colorful Seasons stamp set!! I got my color inspiration from a tissue package.
Recipe:
1. Stampin’ Up Colorful Seasons Stamp Set, Seasonal Layers Dies
2. Make a custom ink pad using reinkers on a baby wipe:
- Blackberry Bliss
- Cajun Craze
- Pumpkin Pie
- Calypso Coral
3. Coordinate cardstock
- Blackberry Bliss
Base 5.5” x 8.25”, scored at 4.25”
Square scrap 2.25” for solid leaf die cut
Strip cut to 5” x 1.5” for trim (cut down to 3.75” to center scallops on card)
- Pumpkin Pie
Cut strip .5” x 3.75”
Cut layer 4” x 5.25”
- Very Vanilla
Cut layer 3.75” x 5”
Cut square scrap 2.5” for detailed leaf die cut
Scrap for greeting
4. Randomly stamp leaf image on Very Vanilla card stock using custom ink pad; also stamp leaf on scrap
5. Stamp leaf veins on top of stamped leaves using Early Espresso
6. Use decorative leaf die cut to cut one leaf for decoration from the scrap
7. Use solid leaf die cut to cut one leaf for decoration from Blackberry Bliss scrap
8. Use scallop die to cut trim from Blackberry Bliss
9. Stamp greeting in Blackberry Bliss ink on scraps of stamped Very Vanilla used to sample leaves in step 3 or sponge edge of greeting after punching with classic label punch
10. Spray detailed leaf with Shimmer Paint (mix 3 or 4 drops in a sprayer with 70% rubbing alcohol)
11. On silicone mat sponge Tombow liquid glue on back of detailed leaf to adhere to solid leaf
12. Layer Pumpkin Pie strip to top of Blackberry Bliss card stock between scallops and trim down to 3.75”, use dimensionals to pop up greeting and decorative leaf

I like that you mentioned where you got your inspiration. It will make me more aware of things I see out and about and ways I can incorporate that into my cards.
I have been trying to take notice of color combos I like. Thank you for leaving me a comment!
